oh my!
Yesterday was crazy. I had every intention of writing on the blog, but as soon as I got out of the shower, I laid down and that was all I could do. Yesterday morning we woke up really early to leave by 7 for the zipline. It was like 3 hours away so we had to get an early start. When we got there, there was already another group going so we had to wait for another hour and a half. We demolished all the snacks and played coin games on the table.
When it was finally our turn, everyone that was going got suited up with harnesses, gloves, helmets, tons of ropes and pullies. Then we headed up the volcano. It was extremely jungly and unfortunately I didn't reapply bug spray before we got into the woods, awesome. I love that we were with a medical team though because they left Spenc and I all sorts of medicines for possible sickness. Anyways, so we get up there and climb this tree to start. I got the hang of the zipline pretty fast, jump up for a guide to attach your harness to the line, then lead hand back on the line as a break and the other hand on your harness for direction. The actual ziplining took about an hour and a half because there were 11 different lines that you swung from tree to tree being reattached to the next line. SO much fun.
Once everyone was done, we headed to the market in Messaya (spelling anyone?). The group stayed there while Spenc, Carlos, both Rafi's, and I went to eat lunch at their local "chickfila". Ha, it was good. Then we went back and shopped around for like 20 minutes. I got a really cool bag that I can use to take around with me down here instead of emptying my bookbag. Sweet deal.
Then Spenc and I got icecream and everyone reloaded to bus for another drive.
We finally dropped the team off at the hotel...sad, I know. It took us an hour to get out of Managua though becasuse they were working on the road and the traffic was out of control. We got back to the house like 8ish for a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich and then finally some SLEEP.
Tonight we're going to pick up the next team...I hope they're nice, I hear they're from Snellville maybe? :/
