No hay falla hombre.
Today has been yet another wonderful day in the barrio. This morning we got up and had some breakfast and headed off to school. When we got there, we realized that only 5 of the 17 kids in the first grade class were there. The teacher told us that the bus didn't have any gas in it so they couldn't go pick the kids up. The only kids that made it to school were the ones that walked there with their parents. Isn't that crazy? But that ended up being such a blessing. The class was so much easier to manage and the teacher seemed so much more at ease so we got to talk to her some too. I put some pictures from the trip so far on facebook so if y'all want to see them, by all means :). They have some from the first grade class. The kids are precious.
We came back and read for a bit. I finished Crazy Love today. Such a good book. Lunch was a homemade chicken soup with rice. After lunch we rested for a bit. Robear, Spec, and I went into town to one of the parks and just to walk around in the afternoon. We had a good time moseying through the streets. It seems like everytime we scale "the hill" it gets easier. But we don't sweat any less. Tonight Jesus (nickname- Chuga), who is Robear's roommate, was over and we all sat out on the porch and chatted.
Well that's really all that went down today. Tomorrow we're going back to the school to help the teachers plan some things for next week.
Ah! This experience is still so unreal and like a dream for me.
The Lord is continually showing me how much He wants to use me when I'm weak. Because His strength is perfected in my weakness.
Love y'all. And you're covered in my prayers!
M.
